SGA Security obtains the PSRA license to operate as a private security company


SGA Security has obtained an operational license from the Private Security Regulatory Authority (PSRA), becoming the first Level 1 private security company to acquire such certification in accordance with government regulations.

The acquisition of the license is in line with the Private Security Regulation Act which directs every private security agency to obtain a mandatory PSRA license to operate in Kenya. The Private Security Regulatory Authority (PRSA) has been tasked with vetting and licensing all private security companies under the Private Security Regulation Act 2016.

Speaking at the official PSRA license handover, PSRA Managing Director Fazul Mahamed congratulated SGA on this huge milestone, a reflection of continued performance in delivering a wide range of security services that contribute the security of customers’ homes and businesses. .

“SGA Kenya Limited is commended for being a reputable private security provider, complying with private security legislation. The five-year PSRA license is a certification of registration, a confirmation of SGA’s commitment to continue to revolutionize the security industry by offering practical solutions, professionalism and efficiency,” said Mr. Fazul .

Upon receiving the PSRA license, CEO and Chairman of the SGA Group, Julius Delahaije, thanked the PSRA for its leadership in establishing a regulatory structure through the compulsory license that will ensure that companies in private security are operated in accordance with established principles.

Recently, SGA celebrated another milestone by obtaining Intertek’s prestigious International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 18788:2015 certification – the highest standard for any security company in Kenya and the region, in recognition its conduct and compliance with its risk management capability to meet the business requirements of customers and other Security Operations Management System (SOMS) stakeholders.
